Aviator Growth Chart
Introducing my latest product... a canvas aviator growth chart! Designed for a fellow USMC aviator family, the chart features historic Marine Corps aircraft. For all you military aviation history buffs out there, starting at the bottom of the chart and moving up, you'll see the Vought VE-7F from the 1920s, the Curtiss JN-4, a Boeing F4-3 from the 1930s, a Curtiss-Wright F6C-4 Hawk, a WWII-era Corsair, a Grumman Wildcat, and finally a McDonnell FH-1 Phantom from the 1950s. A perfect addition to any future aviator's room!
My good friend ES -- whose growing family has been the impetus for several projects now -- inspired this one when she asked me to design a growth chart for her little one's big boy airplane room. I started with a few rough sketches, with only a vague idea of how to mount or hang the chart. We considered printing it on wood or mounted canvas, but both options proved to be too expensive for the rather large and unconventional size of the print. Rolled canvas was the most affordable, yet durable option, and simple wood end caps are the perfect way to professionally hang the print while allowing it to be moved easily when the time comes (as it inevitably does for us military families!).
The chart is now available in the shop and on my Etsy store. It is printed on heavy-duty canvas with stained or white wood end caps for hanging. It measures 18x48 inches and the markers along the sides measure from 1 1/2 feet to 5 1/2 feet. The background color can be customized, at an additional charge, to match your decor.
